Mitsui Siam Components Co., Ltd. (MSC), was established in 1995 in
Rayong, Thailand, with capital of B100 million, together with Mitsui & Co.,
Ltd., and the Siam Steel Group. MSC is vigorously introducing technologies from
Mitsui's mother factory in Nirasaki, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, as the company
meets demand for automobile door latches, both in terms of quality and quantity
- in the rapidly growing ASEAN market.
At present, MSC operates with a staff of 180 and has a monthly
production capacity of 300,000 door latches. MSC also manufactures catalysts,
primarily for two-wheeled vehicles, and has production capabilities of 140,000
catalysts per month.
In accordance with the Thai government policy of cultivating
domestic industry, MSC aims to procure various components locally.

Additionally, MSC is expected to serve as a supply base for door
latches for Thailand and other ASEAN and east Asian markets, and the company
will make efforts to achieve growth in parallel with expansions of these
markets.
