Machine Maintenance Apprenticeship

Full-time Apprenticeship $23.96 per hour Expected 40–50 hours / week Shift flexibility required

Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing mechanical problems using tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Learn to perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on various types of machinery.
  • Support the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of mechanical components under supervision.
  • Use measurement tools such as the ohmmeter to test electrical circuits and troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  • Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
  • Attend company-paid education through Ivy Tech (classes & books) to obtain journeyman’s certification.
  • Must have shift flexibility.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing devices such as an ohmmeter is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions carefully.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
  • Physical ability to use hand tools efficiently, stand, bend, lift, and perform manual tasks throughout shifts.
