Machine Maintenance Apprenticeship

This paid apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in diagnosing mechanical issues, assisting with repairs, and learning the fundamentals of machine maintenance. Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing mechanical problems using tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Learn to perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on various types of machinery.
- Support the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of mechanical components under supervision.
- Use measurement tools such as the ohmmeter to test electrical circuits and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Attend company-paid education through Ivy Tech (classes & books) to obtain journeyman’s certification.
- Must have shift flexibility.
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Familiarity with electrical testing devices such as an ohmmeter is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions carefully.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Physical ability to use hand tools efficiently, stand, bend, lift, and perform manual tasks throughout shifts.
